Stewart’s success across a range of businesses stems from an ability to understand Concept and manage Detail. There are some common themes that run through all his business experiences:

• The vision to identify an opportunity and the courage to grasp it.

• The analysis of market need.

• The preparation, funding and timely execution of a plan.

• The generation of profit and creation of value within a business.

He has founded and grown several businesses, in and around the financial services industry and successfully exited each of them. More recently he has mentored and coached a number of both Startup and SME companies – guiding their leaders through direct contribution, either as an NED, Advisor or Chairman. As a founder of Startup-Gurus, he has worked tirelessly to build up the team of “Gurus” who provide genuine “value add” to the fledgling businesses they support.

Stewart’s reputation as an effective NXD/Chairman has attracted the interests of several businesses. He has recently held three Chairman roles of FCA authorised entities ranging from Fund Management to a Peer to Peer investment business. He also has an interest in a Marine Engineering company, is Chair of a local charity and a Trustee of Age UK Portsmouth.
